In tropical far north Queensland Australia, is Port O’call Eco Lodge. The Daintree Rainforest is the largest area of tropical rainforest on the Australian continent located on the north east coast of Queensland, it grows right to the edge of the sea creating rare unusual stunning coastal scenery where tropical rainforest extends to white sandy beaches with fringing coral reefs just offshore. The forest also contains absolutely spectacular waterfalls, rivers in gorges, rugged mountain peaks and supreme views of undisturbed forests and valleys. The rainforest is home to 30% of Australia’s marsupial, frog and reptile species, about 430 species of birds live in the trees. 65% of australia’s butterfly and bat species and tens of thousands of species of insects. All this diversity of life contained in 0.1% of Australia’s landmass. A lot of the Daintree Rainforest is part of the Wet Tropics of Queensland World Heritage Site.
