Have you ever heard of the world Ostalgie? It stays for nostalgia, nostalgia of aspects of life in Eastern Germany and it comes from the German words Ost (east) and Nostalgie (nostalgia). The fall of the Berlin Wall brought changes throughout Europe and such feeling of nostalgia for the former Soviet age can actually be experienced also outside Germany.
This feeling of nostalgia for certain aspects of people’s life in Eastern Europe refers mainly to the nostalgia for aspects of their ordinary daily life, food, decoration and culture. Today HostelsClub would like to turn back time and make you travel through it by presenting some hostels where some aspects of the former Soviet epoch can still be experienced.
