Five cities to visit for a stag or hen night

Your best friend’s getting married and you have to organise the stag or hen holiday. Low budget? No problem. We’ve chosen five popular stag and hen destinations in Europe that won’t break the bank. Celebrate your mate’s last day of freedom and make sure to stock up at the hostel bar before you head out.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Amsterdam is an ideal city for a stag or hen weekend. Many of its attractions are free or cost only a few euros. Of course, everybody knows about De Wallen (red light district) and its chill out cafes, and if you feel so inclined you’ll have an awesome holiday. The cost of city centre hotels are sometimes high, but you can always save money by booking a hostel.

Dublin, Ireland

With so much to drink in Ireland’s capital, a stag or hen weekend in Dublin is guaranteed to be great craic. Enjoy the Celtic nightlife amongst the crowds in the Temple Bar and listen to some incredible music. Full of laughter and flowing with Guinness, visitors from all over the world travel to Dublin for a big night out.

Barcelona, Spain

If you’re looking for sun, culture and sangria, then look no further than Barcelona. Order some ice cold cervezas on the Las Ramblas, which is populated with street artists, musicians and enough bars to spend a week there. If you want to see Messi and co at the Nou Camp, then save money by staying in the city centre for as little as €8 a night.

Krakow, Poland

Krakow low-lit cellar pubs are the highlight of any trip to Poland. The rustic bolt holes are the perfect place to sample local beers and vodka. Overall, the historic Polish city is much cheaper than Western European destinations. Your stag or hen party will be able to navigate the city centre easily on foot, and you can crash in the centre for around €10 a night if you book a hostel.

Riga, Latvia

Riga is one of the cheapest stag and hen weekends in Europe. With beer and vodka flowing like tap water, you don’t have to pay much to get a round in Latvia’s capital. An average meal with beers and wine will cost you a fraction of what it would in Western Europe. Famous for its booming techno clubs and art nouveau buildings, the city is an ideal location for budget travellers.
